Craftmanship & sustainable construction<\/h2>\n

My passion is to build beautiful and healthy structures and spaces, using building material straight from nature, such as wood, clay and stone. My work is deeply rooted in our rich building tradition of the North, combining it with new exciting techniques inspired by Nature itself.<\/p>\n

Restoration works<\/h2>\n

Over the last 20 years I\u2019ve had the opportunity to work with beautiful old wooden houses here in Finland, and I carry a big appreciation for them. It feels meaningful to restore them to their original state, or to make necessary adjustments according to the needs of the owner and to the call for more energy efficient houses. My special talents are in particular log changing, carpentry, natural stone work, wood carving and clay plastering.<\/p>\n

Wood carving<\/h2>\n

I originally started my work in Denmark with my main focus being the powerful ornaments and carvings from the Viking age. There is an amazing richness to be found in this ancient culture, and I still explore it in my work in Finland. A good example of how I integrate woodcarving with natural building is in The Dragon Temple, Fagervik. I also draw inspiration straight from nature in my attempt to express its Soul.<\/p>\n

A healthy house built from clay and wood<\/h2>\n

In the search for healthy building materials, clay has been found to have extraordinary properties. In particular, its ability to regulate indoor air quality and moisture content is unbeatable. Moreover, clay creates a protective membrane , filtering out unhealthy substances from the inside air.<\/p>\n

A friendly space for your senses<\/h4>\n

The beautiful palette of clay finishes creates a warm and calm environment for people to feel good, and provides a really nice contrast to wooden constructions and surfaces.
Through the use of natural materials I wish to create sensory friendly spaces that promote well-being. Such spaces can also strengthen a harmonious connection to nature.<\/p>\n
